Relentless Pursuit
Relentless Pursuit is a solo project from Kentucky, USA, created by Matthew Konradt in late 2022. Despite being a relatively new project, Relentless Pursuit has already released four albums and an EP, with a fifth album set to release on December 7th! The upcoming album, “Ascension”, is based on the book of Revelation, and you'll hear these themes explored throughout the tracks.
We start with an instrumental piece titled "Alpha", a beautiful piano serenade that sets a serene tone before the powerful riffs take over. The intensity starts early in "Divine Intervention", a track that features a powerful blend of harsh vocals and spoken word. The great sequence of drumming and killer main riff in this track definitely set a strong start for the album.

"Fallen" is a must-listen track that opens with a great guitar riff followed by some of the powerful harsh vocals heard on the earlier tracks. The piano in the background elevates the sound to an even higher level, making it an absolute standout on the album. The lyrics perfectly detail the themes of the album with regret as well as longing for redemption and the hope of divine salvation.
"Here With Me" should definitely be added to your playlists as soon as it drops. The track kicks off with a groovy riff that immediately hooks you in, setting the stage for an immersive experience. You'll encounter a futuristic ambience that gives the song a unique vibe. The track features a clean section that beautifully contrasts with the intense brutality that follows, creating a dynamic and captivating listening journey. It's an absolute banger, seamlessly blending different elements to deliver a powerful and memorable track.
You should definitely check out the entire album in full, but one track that you absolutely must not miss is "The Smell of Destruction." This song is a showcase of unchained brutality, featuring brutal and powerful riffs that will leave you in awe. The gnarly harsh vocals add an extra layer of intensity, perfectly complementing the aggressive instrumentation. The track’s relentless energy and raw power make it a standout on the album, capturing the essence of Matthew’s vision. With such a great sound delivered through each track, something new is always lurking around the corner with every song. The lyrics following the book of Revelation brings something you don’t hear all too often in metal which is an interesting path.
